Announcer/KALW Music ContributorTarik Ansari is an Announcer at KALW Public Media, where they steward the station's live broadcast and mixes sound to ensure the highest quality. Passionate about storytelling and the power of audio, Tarik connects deeply with Bay Area listeners both on the airwaves and through live events.
Previously, Tarik brought his media expertise to on-air and production roles at KQED and Seattle’s 91.7 KIRO, alongside covering the San Francisco 49ers for KNBR 680 and ABC 7. He holds a B.A. in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts from San Francisco State University.
Outside the studio, Tarik channels his love for sound and community as the P.A. voice for the Oakland Ballers and as the singer for local rock band Electric Ex. He lives in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco, where you can catch him hunting for deals at garage sales and going on fun Costco runs.
