One Planet: The impacts of Trump's plan to roll back fuel efficiency standards

On this edition of Your Call’s One Planet Series, we’ll discuss the EPA’s plan to roll back Obama era vehicle emission standards, and revoke California’s authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from tailpipes.

Nineteen states, which have adopted California’s more strict emission standards, are challenging the Trump administration for what they call its illegal and environmentally-destructive plan. How do fuel efficiency standards help to mitigate climate change? How do the standards affect air quality?

Daniel Sperling, professor of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science and Policy, and founding Director of the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis

Ethan Elkind, director of the climate change program at Center for Law, Energy & the Environment at the Univrersity of California, Berkeley
