On this edition of Your Call, we're speaking with members of Children of Smithfield, a group that advocates for workers' rights and better working conditions for all meat packing workers.
According to the Food and Environment Reporting Network, more than 18,000 meatpacking workers have contracted COVID-19. Activist groups have denounced working conditions for months and many families are suing companies like Smithfield and JBS for the deaths of their loved ones.
