On this edition of Your Call, we discuss hotel workers’ strikes and the arrival of a caravan of asylum seekers at the US border.
Hotel workers have been on strike at Marriott hotels around the country, in some cities for more than 50 days. Marriott has settled with workers in several cities, but San Francisco hotel workers remain on strike. How will one of the longest hotel strikes in decades impact working conditions in hotels?
We’ll also discuss what asylum seekers are encountering at the US -Mexico border. On Sunday, a crowd that included children was tear gassed by US Border Patrol agents. What are they leaving behind in their home countries and what are they facing at the border?
