In India, election season is routinely called the Festival of Democracy and every time there’s an election there’s a story about an elephant being used to carry election officials and ballot boxes to some remote corner of India. It is part of the colorful exotica of elections in a chaotic democracy.
Except now we look at American elections 2020 and understand that there’s chaos that’s colorful and then there’s chaos thats toxic.
