Ellen Lee Zhou is one of five candidates running to unseat San Francisco’s current mayor. She’s got a Master’s Degree in social work from San Francisco State, and has worked as a behavioral health clinician.
She’s served as a union steward for San Francisco government employees and served two terms as a Civil Grand Jury member. This is her second run for mayor. While all of the candidates in the mayoral race are running without official party affiliation, Ellen Lee Zhou rails against the “mono-state.” That’s what she calls the Democratic Party, which is prominent in San Francisco politics.
