On this edition of Your Call’s One Planet series, we’ll have a conversation with UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism students about what communities are doing to protect their environment.

What can we learn from a single mother who is pioneering ecological and climate friendly ranching in Panama? Or a team of women who are monitoring and protecting a marine reserve in the Philippines?

Guests:

Sarah Trent, multimedia journalist and student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism

Alyson Stamos, freelance journalist and student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism

Nisha Balaram, freelance environmental reporter and student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism

Mark Schapiro, award winning investigative journalist, author Seeds of Resistance: The Fight to Save Our Food Supply, and a lecturer at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism

Rose Aguilar has been the host of Your Call since 2006. She became a regular media roundtable guest in 2001. In 2019, the San Francisco Press Club named Your Call the best public affairs program. In 2017, The Nation named it the most valuable local radio show.
