Let the artists tell it: East Oakland has a “vibe,” a distinctive feel and flavor, and they do all they can to capture and convey it. Join KALW Public Radio and Oakland Voices for Sights and Sounds of East Oakland: Come Together, the second annual event celebrating the community by the artists who live, work, and create here.
Tickets $0-5, available here: https://
The afternoon will feature musical and dance performances by a capella group OSA Vocal Rush, praise dance by Lyric Performing Arts Academy, visual art and poetry by Bobby Arte featuring 2016 Oakland Youth Poet Laureate Azariah Cole-Shephard, and a soul performance by 1-O.A.K., along with multimedia storytelling from community media project Oakland Voices.
Enjoy food from 9 Julio Empanada Kitchen, fresh cookies by Baked In Blood, live art activities facilitated by Laila Espinoza, and a pre-show dance party with resident DJ HeyLove. Also enter a raffle to win special prizes from local clothiers, brands, and artisans!
