Max Jacobs

Host & Producer, Liner Notes

Max Jacobs hosts and produces Liner Notes, the weekly music and interview program that explores and celebrates the inspirations behind some of today's most dynamic musicians.

Max started working at KALW in 2010, where on his first day in the newsroom he was handed a recorder and told to go record sad sea lions (an experience that was perhaps telling of what working in public radio and particularly for KALW might hold going forward). He covered music and food and agriculture for Crosscurrents, helping create the interview series Bay Area Beats as well as the original radio documentary We’re All Giants.

In addition to radio, he has also written for various online publications such as The Bold Italic and the music site IndieShuffle.

Ways to Connect

David Sedaris returns to the Bay Area in November – he’ll be at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco on Monday, November 18th & in San Jose at the Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, November 20th.

On the next Your Call we’ll speak with Ric O’Barry, former Flipper trainer turned dolphin activist and star of the academy award winning documentary The Cove. The Dolphin Project works to end the billion dollar dolphin captivity industry and to end the killing of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. We are seeing unprecedented level of backlash against Sea World, but the dolphin trade is increasing abroad. What’s next for marine mammals? It’s Your Call, with Rose Aguilar and you.
