- Chinese New Year Parade 2/23 in Chinatown (SF)
- Holding It Down Art Show 2/22 at Mission Skateboards (SF)
Dilla Day 2019 is the annual celebration of life in honor of the late hip hop producer J Dilla. Resident DJ’s Shortkut & Mr. E, as well as special guest Mr. Choc will be playing Dilla beats throughout the night. This event is hosted by 15 Utah and being held at the Great Northern in San Francisco.
"It’s hard to carve out your own niche in hip hop producing, few producers have done that, but J Dilla’s beats to me were just raw, and funky, and dope samples."

The 2019 Year of the Pig Chinese New Year Parade is happening this Saturday in San Francisco’s Chinatown. This is the biggest parade celebrating the Lunar New Year outside of Asia and this year there are slated to be over 100 different merchants and community organizations participating. There will be a community fair, flower market, youth basketball tournament along with the annual Miss Chinatown Pageant. Tickets are required to attend the Parade.
“It’s always one of my favorite times of the year, to be with family, and to spend time cooking.”

San Francisco’s Mission Skateboards will be hosting Holding It Down, a group art show with live music. The show will feature an exhibition of old school and new skool graffiti artists. It starts at 6 pm this Friday 2/22.
It’s showcasing some younger artists as well as some that have been in the game for thirty-plus years.
