Dan Hoyle merges journalism and theatre in his latest show 'Border People'

Peter Prato
Dan Hoyle

For actor and playwright Dan Hoyle, theatre is part of his DNA. His father is veteran stage performer Geoff Hoyle, and Dan has had several acclaimed one-man shows that not only make audiences laugh but think. He’s back at the Marsh for his latest production "Border People."

"Really what I practice is the journalism of hanging out."

The new solo show is based on conversations and interviews Dan had while traveling across the country in the wake of the last presidential election. He explores the lives of people who live on or across borders — both literally and metaphorically.

You can catch "Border People" showing at the Marsh in San Francisco until June 22, and then again from July 20 through August 30.
