THE INTERSECTION: The Future of Googleville

David Boyer

THE INTERSECTION looks at change in the Bay Area through physical intersections and street corners — where different cultures, desires, and histories meet every day.

This season takes place in Silicon Valley in one of the wealthiest addresses on the planet — Google's headquarters in Mountain View. In this episode, we look at how a city crafts a plan for the future while dealing with current housing and transportation crises.

"We currently have roughly 25,000 people working in North Bayshore. And we have projection of 13,000 new jobs. And we have something like 360 housing units in North Bayshore. We have an incredible imbalance already baked in the cake."

THE INTERSECTION was made possible with a grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission and support from California Humanities, a nonprofit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
