On this edition of Your Call, we’ll hear from women who are building their own culinary businesses through the San Francisco-based incubator program La Cocina, which is out with its first cookbook.

La Cocina is dedicated to supporting working class food entrepreneurs, primarily immigrant women and women of color. We’ll hear from a baker who started out by making a showstopping cake for her own wedding, and a Filipino American building a food business that will give back to her communities. How are women developing culinary ventures with social impact?

Guests:

Emiliana Puyana, program manager at the San Francisco based food business incubator La Cocina

Tina Stevens, owner of A Girl Named Pinky, where her passion is to create custom cakes and desserts that delight

Aileen Suzara, owner of Sariwa, a business currently in incubation at La Cocina
