Jun 11, 2019

In this edition of Bay Area Beats Brittany Tanner, Felicia Gangloff-Bailey, Lauren Adams, and, Karega Bailey of SOL (Source of Light) Development explain using their music as a form of activism and healing.

This four-person music collective based out of Oakland met as college students and performers in Virginia and Washington D.C., and connected around their politics, and their California roots. Their current studio album "The SOL of Black Folks" blends rap, jazz, and soul to relay themes of police violence, mental health and mass incarceration. All told through the black experience.
