Sean Reardon, professor of poverty and inequality at Stanford University, directs the Educational Opportunity Project. It draws on big data to help us understand and solve the achievement gap.

A big data project led by Stanford University's Sean Reardon aims to crack the code on our nation’s stubborn student achievement gaps by mapping race, ethnicity, poverty and academic test scores.

"When we look at our data, there's no school district in the United States out of the thousands and thousands that has even moderately high segregation that doesn't have a large achievement gap."
