COVID-19 Black Regional Town HallThursday, March 25, from 5:30-7pm. The title of the event is “Saving Black Lives" and features California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris.

It includes an all star panel of African American doctors, public health representatives and community leaders from all over the Bay Area sharing info about the COVID-19 vaccine. California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris will also speak at the town hall.

3 Bay Area counties advance to the orange tier — SF Gate

San Francisco Hunters Point/Bayview Residents: The Hunter’s Point Citizen Advisory Committee is hosting a virtual visit of the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard from March 22-26.  Learn about the ongoing shipyard cleanup, including radiological retesting, and speak directly to cleanup team members at a virtual Q&A on March 25 at noon and 5pm. Ben joined KALW in 2004. As Executive News Editor and then News Director, he helped the news department win numerous regional and national awards for long- and short-form journalism. He also helped teach hundreds of audio producers, many of whom work with him at KALW, today.
Kevin Vance created a program of folk music for KALW, A Patchwork Quilt, in October 1991. He grew up in Berkeley during the 1960s and '70s and spent his years learning in public schools, community colleges, bookstores, libraries, and non-commercial radio stations, as well as from the people around him. When he's not on the radio, then he's selling books, taking care of his family, listening to music, entering stuff into a computer, or taking a class.
