Media Roundtable: The untold story of the Chernobyl disaster & attacks on abortion rights

On this edition of Your Call’s media roundtable, we’ll have a conversation with Adam Higginbotham about his new book Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster.

The book provides a detailed account of the 1986 accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, then part of the former Soviet Union. Nearly 350,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes after the accident. The blast killed 31 people. Cancer and other radiation-exposure problems still plague thousands of people. What lessons have we learned from this nuclear disaster?

Later in the show, we'll discuss media coverage of the future of Roe v. Wade and Republicans' ongoing attacks on reproductive rights.

Guests:

Adam Higginbotham, journalist and author of Midnight In Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World’s Greatest Nuclear Disaster
