Digital Jrln. // "This is the best cannabis initiative ever put together for California," says a proponent of the ballot measure known as Marijuana Control, Legalization & Revenue Act of 2014. But supporters want it to be even better, so they’ve extended the comment period for anyone wanting to comment.

The Weed Blog // The International Narcotics Control Board is “very concerned” that Uruguay is moving ahead with plans to “legalize production, sale and consumption of cannabis for recreational purposes,” a direct violation of the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs.

Denver Post // Numerous cannabis dispensaries were raided in Colorado yesterday, less than two months before the state’s recreational cannabis law goes into effect. The concerted effort included DEA, IRS, DOJ, and local police. Why? The authorities declined to elaborate.

US News // The American Medical Association voted Tuesday to keep marijuana on its list of dangerous drugs while also noting that “federal efforts to address illicit drug use” have been ineffective.
