Your Call

Your Call weekly kudos: February 19th, 2016

On the February 19th edition of Your Call, it’s our Friday media roundtable.

How are the media reporting on his legacy and influence on the Supreme Court’s major decisions affecting abortion,  voting rights, money in politics, and labor? We’ll also discuss the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria, as continued Russian bombings have created a new wave of refugees. Join the conversation, on the next Your Call, with Rose Aguilar, and you.

Guests:

Scott Horton, contributing editor at Harper’s Magazine, and a lecturer at Columbia Law School. He is the author of Lords of Secrecy: The National Security Elite and America's Stealth Foreign Policy had trouble finding journalism this week that he resonated with. He found little in the way of campaign coverage that he considers worth while. He did want to give kudos to Andrew Boyton at the New Yorker for his article "Copy-editing Trump".

Bob Egelko, legal affairs reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle gave kudos to Charlie Savage at the New York Times. Also, Bob gave kudos to former collegue Jon Carroll's continue writing at joncarrollprose.wordpress.com.

Borzou Daraghahi, Middle East correspondent for BuzzFeed News gave kudos to new Buzzfeed collegue Monica Mark for her coverage of African terrorist organization Boko Haram.

What journalism impressed you this week?
