Sights and Sounds is your weekly guide the Bay Area arts scene through the eyes and ears of local artists. During shelter-in-place, instead of recommending in-person events, we're offering suggestions for ways to experience art and culture from home. This week, host Jenee Darden speaks with Derek Zemrak, a film producer and owner of the Orinda Theatre.

Natalie Douglas: Singin’ In the Wire

Jazz singer Natalie Douglas performs for this virtual concert. Clive Davis once called her a true force of nature. Her TRIBUTES residency at the Birdland Jazz Club in New York has been a draw for a several years. Stream this concert until Sept. 17th. Look out for her in 2021 when she returns to the Bay to perform at the Orinda Theatre.

Match Game Apocalypse
This is like the remix of the reboot of the classic game show, but Bay Area style. Comic Eerie Diamond hosts this hilarious show every Saturday 7PM on Zoom. Panels feature local comics and artists. Watch past games on Youtube.

Outdoor Summer Comedy Series with Kabir Singh
This pick is actually out of the house! Kabir Singh's weekly live series features live standup from comedians around the state. Kabir has been featured on Comedy Central, Family Guy and is on the Amazon Prime show Inside Jokes. This event is at the Player Pub and Pianos in Danville. There are social distance rules in place.
