February 1st marks the beginning of spring, known as Imbolc among the Pagan Celts. Join us TODAY this Saturday (2/2) at 3 pm (PST) on KALW’s Folk Music & Beyond for our celebration of Brigid, a patron saint of Ireland and a Celtic goddess, keeper of the flame who healed the sick and fed the poor. Our guest and guide will be Brigid expert and amateur Irish history scholar Jo Coffey.
Remembering Linda Waterfall--As winter draws to a close, we also bid a fond farewell to Linda Waterfall, the supremely talented singer-songwriter/guitarist/pianist who passed away on January 8th after a long illness. Spirituality, healing, rebirth and renewal were a central part of her beautifully complex and harmonic songwriting.
