Fall 2018:  Shostakovich Part 2

In our Thirteenth season we continue the deep dive into the life of Dmitri Shostakovich (1906 - 1975). His controversy and his brilliance. His cowardice and his heroism. His capitulation and his rebellion.

Dmitri Shostakovich was one of the 20th century’s most gifted composers, but he lived in constant fear of the totalitarian Soviet regime. Was he a rebel, a soviet sympathizer or just a musical genius trying to survive? Join us for some insight into this controversial composer.
