Gray Lodge Wildlife Refuge is 60 miles north of Sacramento. Among the almond, peach, and rice farms of the northern Central Valley, this wetland serves as a rest stop for millions of birds migrating from north to south, like ducks, grebes, and coots. This recording was made by Bernie Krause with Wild Sanctuary.
