James Maiz

James manages KALW Presents—the promotions arm of KALW Music—and supports community outreach initiatives. He works with KALW music programmers as well as local venue partners and artist management to create a diverse calendar of KALW Presents and ticket giveaway promos. An electric bass player in a number of Bay Area bands, he has been a DJ on KALX Berkeley 90.7 FM for nearly a decade and is an ardent supporter of local punk, experimental, and other music scenes.
