Frameline 44 - Peter Robinson - SF Mime Troupe: Novice Nurse Susie Terse - 'Diagnosis: Capitalism'

Lawton Lovely - SFMT

This week on Open Air, KALW’s radio magazine for the Bay Area Performing Arts in Times of Corona, host David Latulippe talks with Frameline director Paul Struthers, about Frameline 44, the world’s largest virtual LGBTQ+ film festival, which starts this week; Peter Robinson reviews books about Donald Trump; and we raise the virtual curtain of Open Air’s Corona Radio Theater for Episode 6 of the San Francisco Mime Troupe’s summer podcast series Tales of the Resistance

The sixth installment of Tales of the Resistance, a nine-part series of original political comedy radio plays by the San Francisco Mime Troupe, picks up the story of Novice Nurse Susie Terse, brought to you ‘Adventure’ style…

Can Nurse Susie Terse continue to fight off the bureaucracy while fending off the corrupt Capitalist Healthcare Conspiracy? Or will she be locked up as a Cop hating Commie forever? Find out in this week’s episode of Open Air’s Corona Radio Theater.

We talk with Paul Struthers, Frameline’s Director of Exhibition and Programming, about Frameline 44, the world’s largest virtual LGBTQ+ film festival — taking place September 17 - 27.

This 11-day virtual event features 10 world premieres, four international premieres, three North American premieres, and one US premiere, including new narrative features, documentaries, episodics, and shorts programs.

Ticket holders will also have access to special live and pre-recorded intros, Q&As, and other unique programming, including Frameline’s first-ever virtual gala and live auction (Sept. 26), to evoke the live festival experience that has made Frameline the global leader in LGBTQ+ cinema for the past 44 years.

Plus, Open Air’s regular contributor and critic at large, Peter Robinson, reviews six of the best books on Donald Trump by a wide range of authors, including Bob Woodward's new book ‘Rage’.

Open Air with host David Latulippe; heard live on Thursday, September 17 at 1pm. Archived at this location afterwards. Listen now or anytime…
