Open Air is Back! – Brian Copeland & The Marsh - Ben Jones & 42nd Street Moon – Peter Robinson

Open Air, KALW’s weekly radio magazine about the Bay Area Performing Arts, is back!

Still live radio, but now with guests appropriately socially distant, calling in via phone or Zoom.

Surprisingly, the sound's not bad! ;)

This week on the show, host David Latulippe talks with writer and performer Brian Copeland, and with Stephanie Weisman, founder and director of The Marsh, about Copeland’s highly anticipated new solo show, Grandma & Me: An Ode to Single Parents, which was originally scheduled to open at The Marsh on March 20.

Also, a conversation with tenor Ben Jones, who recently released a new cd in collaboration with the Alexander String Quartet; he was also slated for appearances in the Bay Area with theater company 42ndStreet Moon, and at Feinstein's at the Nikko. On top of that, he and his wife are currently recovering from COVID-19.

Joining the conversation are composers Steve Hackman and Randy Bass; and Daren A.C. Carollo, co-executive director at 42nd Street Moon.

Plus, Open Air’s regular contributor and critic at large, Peter Robinson, gives tips and advice on how to make the most of your time while sheltering in place.

Open Air with host David Latulippe, heard live on Thursday, April 9 at 1pm. Listen now or anytime.
