Fog City Blues: Amy Winehouse - The Documentary & The Singles at SFJazz

UnderCover Presents a tribute to Amy Winehouse featuring a screening of the Oscar-winning 2015 documentary Amy and live performances of Winehouse’s music by local artists Diana Gameros, Martin Luther, and Midtown Social.

From her early start as featured vocalist with London’s National Youth Jazz Orchestra and GRAMMY wins for Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Female Pop Performance, and Pop Vocal Album to her final recording with Tony Bennett and death from alcohol poisoning at age 27, Amy Winehouse led a life of impossible highs and unimaginable lows – an inspiring story of success as well as a cautionary tale of too much too soon. SFJazz Founder & Executive/Artistic Director Randall Kline, UnderCover Presents Executive Director Lyz Luke, and members of Midtown Social join host Devon Strolovitch live in the studio this Wednesday 8/03 at 9 pm.
