Your Call Election Special: California death penalty propositions; money in politics

Every Thursday through Election Day, Rose Aguilar will host a special second hour of Your Call at 11 a.m. focused on local and state elections, the voting system, and the democratic process in California.

This Thursday, we’ll have a conversation about California's two competing death penalty propositions. Proposition 62 would eliminate the death penalty, and proposition 66 would speed up the death penalty process. If both pass, the measure with the most votes will supersede the other. We'll also talk about the record-setting, multimillion-dollar TV and print advertising aimed at influencing voting decisions.

Guests:

Marjorie Cohn, professor emerita at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, past president of the National Lawyers Guild, and author of Drones and Targeted Killing: Legal, Moral, and Geopolitical Issues

Adrienne Skye Roberts, artist, and a member of the California Coalition for Women Prisoners

Angela Woodall, award-winning cross platform reporter
