Tuesday 2/19 What happens when sports figures take a political stand?  An interview with Dave Zirin, author of Game Over: How Politics Has Turned the Sports World Upside Down.  How are athletes using their voices to speak out about political issues, like homophobia?  And why does it matter?

Wednesday 2/20 What does life in the Central Valley show us about the problems in our food system?  From immigration issues to corporate agriculture, water scarcity, health hazards from environmental pollution, the effects of climate change, wage gaps and economic injustice, the bread basket of the nation is struggling.  We'll speak with photojournalists, Ken and Melanie Light, authors of the book, Valley of Shadows and Dreams.  If you’re from the Central Valley, what do you want others to know about life there?  If you've seen the Lights' photographs of the Central Valley, how did they impact you?

Thursday 2/21 What's the state of local news outlets?  After years of cutbacks and revenue increases, have newspapers finally found their place?  What's the state of local journalism today?  With so many hyper local outlets starting up over the past few years, are people getting the news they need and want?  How has the journalistic landscape changes and how is that affecting the vibrancy of our democracy?

Friday 2/22 Weekly media roundtable.

Monday 2/25 Where is the “Blue-Green” Dialogue?  How are environmentalists connecting with the labor movement?  From our recent show about the Keystone XL controversy, arose an awareness of disconnect between labor and environmentalists.  How can environmentalists talk realistically about jobs and economic opportunity?  And on the flipside of the coin, how can labor organizers think about longer term sustainability of jobs?  What is potential power of this alliance?  If they get together, what change can they create?
