Workers Compensation in California -- the Basics

California maintains a no-fault system under which if you get hurt on the job, your employer is required by law to pay for workers’ compensation benefits.

This system, in most cases, is the sole remedy for a workplace injury; in most instances, personal injury laws do not apply to an injury suffered at work. There is a system in place to protect workers, but it is not dependent upon the same factors as would apply to a personal injury case.
