How can we limit our exposure to toxic chemicals?

On this edition of Your Call, we’ll talk about the impact and proliferation of hormone-disrupting chemicals.

In his new book Sicker, Fatter, Poorer, Dr. Leonardo Trasande explains how these substances get into our bodies, where they come from, and how they mimic hormones. He says over 1,000 everyday chemicals could disrupt our hormones and have life altering effects on all of us, especially children. What can we do to limit our exposure to harmful chemicals?

Guest:

Dr. Leo Trasande, associate professor of pediatrics at the NYU School of Medicine and the NYU Wagner School of Public Service, and author of Sicker, Fatter, Poorer: The Urgent Threat of Hormone-Disrupting Chemicals to Our Health and Future . . . and What We Can Do About It
