On September 8, people in cities around the world are taking to the streets to call on local leaders to commit to transitioning to 100 percent renewable energy. The actions in San Francisco will coincide with the Global Climate Action Summit. We'll discuss coverage. Also, the nationwide prison strike comes to end on Sunday. In April, seven prisoners were killed at the South Carolina Lee Correctional Institution after officers failed to respond to deadly riots. In response, people behind bars in the South Carolina system joined with allies in prisons across the country to demand a nationwide prison strike. Their collective goals: "Humane living conditions, access to rehabilition, sentencing reform, and the end of modern day slavery."
