How Shelter-In-Place Is Affecting One Oakland Barber

Damion Hunter owns Megah Brown's barbershop in Oakland.

The gooming industry is one of many that have been hit hard by coronavirus closures — nail shops, hair salons, and barbershops. The government doesn’t consider them essential services.

These small businesses are having to let workers go, others have switched to doing house calls. Customers have been calling on people to support their stylists and barbers by paying them for future service. And some, are staying open despite the orders to close.

Damion Hunter owns Megah Browns barbershop in Oakland. He has shut down. I called him up to see how this has affected him and his customers.
