“Acting while black—and queer.” That’s the subject of Rotimi Agbabiaka’s new solo show, Type/Caste.
The artist has made his way around San Francisco’s underground experimental performance scene and he’s done commercial industry work. His new musical theater show takes us with him, through the hilarious highs, offensive lows and in and out of the pigeon holes.
Rotimi Agbabiaka talked to KALW’s Jen Chien about spinning his tribulations into performance gold.
