This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks with composer/instrument builder Paul Dresher and percussion virtuoso Steven Schick about the music theater production ‘Schick Machine’, this weekend at Z Space in San Francisco.

Members of the Friction Quartet stop by to talk about their fifth anniversary concerts at the Center for New Music on September 29 and 30, featuring world premieres of commissioned new works for string quartet by Stephen Feigenbaum and Alex Van Gils. PUSH Dance Company’s Artistic Director Raissa Simpson shares details about the third season of PUSHfest, this weekend at ODC, which brings together 18 choreographers from a wide range of styles, and includes three world premieres by PUSH Dance Company, one of which is Simpson’s ‘Mothership (Part I)’.  Regular contributor and critic at large Peter Robinson reviews the new documentary on the Beatles, the movie ‘Sully’ and a new play at ACT, ‘King Charles III’.
