Over the past weeks, we've ramped up our voter outreach in five communities with historically lower voter turnout rates.
We created special voter guides for East Palo Alto, West Oakland, Richmond, Fairfield, and San Francisco's Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhoods. These pamphlets are tailored to each area, and explain where and how to vote. A team of volunteers, including some of our listeners, went out and distributed these guides in person.
We've also been heading into the communities, both in-person and virtually, to explain ballot measures, how to vote, and where to get helpful voter information. Our team has talked to seniors at the East Oakland Senior Center, youth at Richmond's RYSE Youth Center's "18 and Voting" session, East Palo Alto residents at the Boys and Girls Club community dinner, and a Black voter information session organized by the Fillmore Merchants and Neighborhood Collaborative.
