In the opera Capriccio by Richard Strauss, two men compete for the love of a countess. One woos her with music, the other with poetry. Meanwhile, offstage, a string ensemble rehearses a sextet. We hear the Sextet from Capriccio performed on stage in an orchestral arrangement by the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Phillippe Entremont conducts the performance in Worcester, Mass.
