No Lovely Thing is a fiercely funky soul band based in Oakland. Led by singer Melissa Jones’ percussive melodies and unforgettably captivating voice, the band weaves elements of blues, ska, reggae and jazz into their modern soul-funk mix.
Known for their electrifying live sets and ever-growing enthusiastic crowds at legendary Bay Area clubs including Brick & Mortar Music Hall, The Red Devil Lounge, The New Parish and The Starry Plough, No Lovely Thing thrives on performing, feeding off the energy of their crowds to make each performance unique. The release party for their debut EP takes place March 11 in Oakland, and the band joins host Devon Strolovitch live in the studio this Wednesday 3/01 at 9 pm.
