On this edition of Your Call, we're speaking with Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter James Steele, co-author of the updated version of America: What Went Wrong? The Crisis Deepens.
In 1992, James Steele and Donald Barlett concluded that inequality was a direct result of 40 years of national policies that favored the few at the expense of the many. They have updated their book showing how the trends they explored have reached crisis levels and created soaring income inequality. They say the economic collapse from COVID-19 will make inequality even worse. Structural change will be difficult, but it is possible.
