On the October 26th edition of Your Call, we’ll discuss the rising cost of child care.

The average annual cost of daycare is about $10,000. For many families, child care costs account for 40 percent of total household income. Back in 1971, Richard Nixon vetoed legislation that would have provided universal childcare. This has become a major election issue. What will it take to put universal child care back on the table at the federal level? Join us live at 10am with me, Rose Aguilar and you.

Guests:

David Kirp, professor of the graduate school at UC Berkeley, senior scholar at the Learning Policy Institute, and author of The Sandbox Investment: The Preschool Movement and Kids-First Politics
