Preserving affordable housing in the Bay Area
The housing debates in the Bay Area are often dominated by questions surrounding new construction: how much should we build? Does market rate construction hurt or help with the displacement problem? Are we getting enough affordable housing out of developers. These are important questions, but new construction isn't the only factor in the displacement equation.
In February, Crosscurrents aired a series surveying the efficacy of four other tools that Bay Area cities use to keep people in their homes.
