Gun violence drops in the Bay Area & nationwide ICE raids to be expected

On this edition of Your Call’s Media Roundtable, we’ll discuss a recent report from The Guardian that found gun homicides nationwide have barely dropped, but in the Bay Area, a region scarred by inequality and gentrification, they’re down by 30 percent. What strategies have been used to decrease gun violence and what factors have contributed to this decline?

We’ll also get the latest on the reported ICE raids that are expected to begin this Sunday in 10 major cities, including San Francisco. Two weeks ago, President Trump first publicly announced ICE raids would take place, but called it off partly due to resistance from officials at the Department of Homeland Security.
