Barrio Manouche is a Bay Area Spanish Gypsy Jazz Ensemble. Javier Jiménez (co-founder of Beso Negro) has moved onto a more authentic Jazz Manouche style, letting his original influences from Madrid, Spain intertwine with the ever-present spirit of Django Reinhardt. Barrio Manouche's EP, Detrás de la Sombra, is available at their live shows, including November 7 at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley (where they will also be serving their house-made paella). The group joins host Devon Strolovitch to perform live in the studio this Wednesday, 10/28 at 9 pm.
