We remembered Nick Drake, the talented, enigmatic British singer-songwriter last Saturday on "Folk Music & Beyond." Listen back to this special program for the next week on KALW's Local Music Player. Drake passed away forty years ago at the young age of 26. At the time of his death, few people had heard of him. Thanks to a steady cult following and a Volkswagon TV commercial, Nick Drake is far better known now than he was when he was alive. Famed record producer Joe Boyd worked closely with Nick on his first two albums and has played a key role in keeping his legacy alive all these years. Joe talks about Nick and his music and we hear a sound collage produced by the Kitchen Sisters, documenting Boyd's most recent project--a concert series he produced in tribute to Nick Drake.
