California Legislators Fail To Vote On The Garment Worker Protection Act

Claire Hannah Collins / Los Angeles Times

On this edition of Your Call, we'll find out why the California Assembly failed to vote on the Garment Worker Protection Act or SB 1399, which would have guaranteed the state's minimum wage to 45,000 garment workers.

They work 10 to 12 hours a day making clothes for top brands and make as little as $150 a week. Garment workers fought tirelessly for this bill. Why wasn't it called for a vote before the session ended? What's next?
