Media Roundtable: Capital Gazette mass shooting, the future of the Supreme Court & Mexico's election

Victims of Capital Gazette shooting in Annapolis

On the next Your Call’s media roundtable, we’ll discuss coverage of the upcoming presidential election in Mexico. The escalation of violence, corruption, and poverty are key issues for voters. In 2017, nearly 30,000 people were killed in Mexico, and 53 million people live in poverty.

Yesterday was the deadliest day for journalism in the US. A gunman killed five people in the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis, Maryland. We’ll also look at coverage of the long term consequences of Supreme Court decisions, and the future of the court with Justice Anthony Kennedy retiring.
