Sandip Roy gets virtually stranded in Bangladesh at the Dhaka Lit. Fest.
When I walked into my fancy hotel room in Dhaka I saw instead of a welcoming mint chocolate on my pillow, a little note in a friendly shade of peach. It warned me not to step out the hotel because a political party had called a national strike. Airport shuttles would be provided by the hotel but at your own risk. I had not quite bargained on this when I landed for the Dhaka Literary Festival.
