Operatic Shakespeare ~ Rock'n President Jackson

On this week's Open Air, host David Latulippe talked with tenor Saimir Pirgu, who is singing in the SF Opera production of Bellini’s “The Capulets and Montagues”, and with Bill English, director of SF Playhouse, to discuss their new season and season-opener:  the rock musical, “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson," now playing.  Plus Peter Robinson stops by with an update of recent cultural events.  Listen anytime here (originally broadcast 10/11/12).

David Latulippe is host of Open Air, KALW's weekly radio magazine of the performing arts, as well as for Explorations in Music, and the Berkeley Symphony broadcasts. He has also hosted and produced the radio series From the Conservatory, Music from Mills, and Music at Menlo, and is principal guest host for Revolutions Per Minute.
