Your Call: What impact has the Black Panther Party had on movements then and now?

On the February 15th edition of Your Call, we revisit our conversation with film director Stanley Nelson. He joins us to talk about his new documentary, The Black Panthers, Vanguard of the Revolution

In 1966, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black Panther Party. One of the party's earliest activities involved "policing the police." They would follow the police around, carrying loaded weapons, and observe police stops to make sure no brutality occurred. Nearly 50 years later, the issues the party championed remain relevant today. What has and hasn’t changed? What can we learn from the legacies of the Black Panther Party? Join the conversation on the next Your Call, with Rose Aguilar and you.

The film is airing on PBS Independent Lens February 16th.
