Your Call: What are the everyday inequalities in the U.S. healthcare system?

On the September 24th edition of Your Call, author and doctor Damon Tweedy joins us to talk about his new book, Black Man in a White Coat. In his memoir Dr. Tweedy weaves personal stories with stark statistics exploring the socio-economic disparities in medicine. He says, “I would learn time and time again, both at Duke and beyond: Being black can be bad for your health.” How do we improve health for everyone?

Guest:

Dr. Damon Tweedy is a graduate of Duke Medical School and Yale Law School. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center and staff physician at the Durham VA Medical Center.
